Myself and a couple of mates are planning on going for a ride in South Africa next month and was wondering if anybody has rented a bike in South Africa or can put me in contact with somebody who has:

We have located 2 companies in Cape Town

Karoo Biking
One company we are particularly interested in is Karoo Biking. Has anybody used them?
They have a testimonial on their web from a Darren Thompson of Perth but I have been unable to locate him. Does any body know him?

Cape Bike Rentals
They are more restrictive as to where we can take the bikes and seem to concentrate on the Cape Town area.

I'd appreciate any info anybody has!![/list]

Well I am locked in on a 3 week ride in South Africa and Namibia having paid my airfare and deposit and had my Yellow Fever shot for Namibia.

Using the same company to rent my bike as Anatexis used – an R1200 GS. After some apprehension I am now looking forward to it.
