Mid West Ride, August

Post by BillWest » Thu May 31, 2018 10:34 am

Mid West Ride - 4 day ride, Aug 10-13.

We need some numbers of people doing this ride, so that we can sort out accommodation.
Add to this post if you intend to go.

Summary:

Leave Caltex Midvale, at 9:00am.

Itinerary:

Fri: Perth - Mt Magnet, overnighting at Jim Nash' "Miner's Rest". 580km.
Sat: Mt Magnet to Kalbarri, wildflowers should be out, overnight. 470km.
Sun: Kalbarri to Dongara, overnight, sightseeing along the way. 230km.
Mon: 8:00am, Breakfast.
Depart for home at about 9a.m. via Mingenew, Three Springs, Moora (lunch at The Drover's Inn).
Then on to Bindoon and through to Ginger's Roadhouse, Gt Northern Hwy, Upper Swan, where we take a break and go our own ways. 440km.
Fuel is readily available along the whole route.

Accommodation:

Mnt Magnet - Miners' Rest, 10 rooms booked at $60 each.
Kalbarri - Kalbarri Motor Hotel
Dongara - Seaspray Beach Holiday Park.
Ride Leader - Bill.
I was going to behave myself, but there were too many other options.

Interested parties,

Kalbarri accommodation has been updated to the Kalbarri Motor Hotel.
(Link is in the first post above).
Book your own for this one, singly or in pairs.

Dongara Seaspray: I have booked a 3 bedroom unit, sharing with Glenn and Chips.

Initial itinerary (ie via Mnt Magnet) remains as is.

Mighty Mid West Riders, I've just booked a Twin share room at the Kalbarri Motor Hotel for Sat 11 Aug. Price is only $105 for the room, or $52.50 each.

Low room rate means more money for food and refreshments.

Give me a call or SMS on 0478 625 588 if you'd like to share.

Glenn.

My offer to share accommodation in Kalbarri is now closed. Chips bravely took up the offer.

Chips - bring good ear plugs, I'm a loud snorer!

Bill,

Thanks for a fantastic four days on the road. The roads, and the company were excellent as always but the four days of brilliant sunshine after all the recent wet weather made this an unforgettable weekend.
Thanks also to Bruce, our faithful TEC for the entire four days and commiserations to Pete who was unable to finish the ride due to a mechanical issue with his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Thanks to Bill for organising and leading, and Bruce, our reliable TEC.
