Re: Mishap

Many thanks to all for your visits and messages after my rough landing on Saturday. To Bill and Keith (Snr), a special thank you for taking care of my bike and gear. It brings home to us when this sort of thing happens, what a bunch of true friends we have in Ulysses.

Love your new signature, Bill. It puts me in mind of Valentino's advice on cornering technique:

"Wide f***ing open until you see god, then brake." I've never seen god. Is that because I don't leave it late enough to brake, or... other reasons?

Due to the forecast for HOT weather tomorrow (Sun 11th Feb), I've decided to postpone the scheduled ride to a later, more comfortable date.

Stay tuned...

+ + Thanks for putting that one up Boxer. The old Kwaka was spotted on Sunday as Keith, Murray and I were sitting on the verandah of Dome in Midland. The rider was a well-known local character recognisable by some of our readers as "Red Dog", an eccentric who has been spotted over the past 15 years ...

+ + Thanks for that Wayne. I remember my first ride on one of these, I think in 1976 when my uncle bought one. It was a pretty special bike in its day and I remember it being quite smooth and powerful. At the time I had an XL250 for enduros and the CB400 was a revelation - a stylish and nice handlin...

The ride calendar for the first few months of 2018 is beginning to fill up. If you have an
idea for a ride and you want to take advantage of the fine weather before the end of May,
get in now while there is still a choice of weekends! ..JM. :riding: :RG:

+ + No mention in all the hype concerning the poor wear performance of front PR4s and PR3s. The tendency for these tyres to accelerated wear on the right side of the tread is the reason I've decided to change to Pirellis. My (blue) Blackbird has just recently polished off a set of Diablo Rosso IIIs,...

+ + Many thanks and unlimited kudos to John G for a truly memorable weekend's riding. We (seven, then after Brookton, I think, six of us) experienced it all; the weather gods unable to decide whether to drown us or boil us alive, some fascinating roads that most of us had never ridden before, unique...

Lunch at Greenhills

Join us for a run up to Greenhills Tavern on Sunday 29th for Sunday Lunch. The weather forecast has been improving day by day so I think it should be a good day's riding through the steadily ripening crops of the wheatbelt.

PS.. Katya and Olga.. There were lots of nasty-looking, black-clad and hairy Harley riders at the Mumby this arvo. Pity you didn't come along, you could have done some business!

The brilliant Mumby Ride...

+ + Many thanks, Chips for another fantastic Mumby Ride. Last year's was bloody good but today's ride was amazing. What other ride in the calendar has managed to stitch together a succession of such insanely blastable roads as today's ride did. I'm still on an adrenaline high! ...and then there was ...

I've been reliably informed that the "CB1100" above is in fact a Yamaha SR400. Yet another sign that my specs need updating!
