Ulysses Perth Branch - Committee Meeting Minutes ? Wed Oct 31st 2018

Venue: Carlisle Hotel, Carlisle.

Present: John Gliddon - President/Sec, Wayne Bavin, Tony Southall,
Nigel Penfold, Jim Cheeseman
Apologies: Bill Westerhuis, Keith Gamble, Mark Dixon

JG brought the meeting to order at 7.30pm
Agenda - Discussion Items
1] Perth Branch Flyer
The future of the branch flyer was discussed, as the flyer has been extremely successful and very popular with the majority of members. It was decided to wait until Bill Westerhuis returned from the eastern states and discuss the matter with him.

2] Facebook Page
JG reported that Mandurah Murray branch had recently opened their branch Facebook page which will be a 'closed' page. Perth Branch would review the Perth page at the branch January meeting as moved at the branch August Committee meeting.

3] Saturday Afternoon Coffee
Numbers attending coffee each Saturday afternoon have been reported to be dropping each week and a change of venue was discussed as a possible way to increase interest.
It was decided to remain at the Dome Vic Park and discuss at a later date.

4] Breakfast Club
JG reported that Warnbro Sound will host the November breakfast on Saturday November 24th at Serpentine Dam Caf?. Perth Branch will host the breakfast on Sat Feb 23rd, 2019. International on the water would be a possible venue.

5] Mandurah Murray Toy Run
As Mandurah Murray branch will be hosting the Christmas "Toy Run" again this year, JG moved that we get behind the run and support Mandurah branch. JG will lead a branch ride to Pinjarra start point, leaving from Armadale. More details will be announced asap.

6] Branch Christmas Party
All committee members were happy to hold our Christmas Party at Churchman Brook and the branch would provide the same food and beverage as in previous years. It was decided that this will be a 'cook your own' bbq. JG to contact Water Board and book venue.

7] Social Events
Our last event at International on the Water was extremely popular and well attended. The next Social Dinner will be held at the Thornlie Food Hall, Thornlie.

8] Bali Swing 2019
Seven members have booked for the Swing and hopefully more will make the annual event in July 2019. Details on the branch forum.

9] Bridegtown Odyssey 2019
JG reported that there would be limited hard accommodation at Bridgetown and advised that members wishing to attend should book as soon as possible.
