MEETING NOTES 1st AUGUST 2018

Meeting opened at 1931hrs. Meeting held at Freemasons chaired by Daryll McCaffrey.

PRESENT:

Dale Clifton, Daryll & Libby McCaffrey, Teresse and Tony Bussey, Nungers, Cyril McKenzie, Peter Moore, John Norton, Bruce Ralph, Gary Warner, Robin Judd, Roger Christie.

         Bunnings show on shine for fatherís day. Libby following up.

         Natcom Admin - The usual message asking for update of contacts for the club. Bruce is letting them know it is still himself and Peter Moore.

         Web site bill $40/year

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

         Rider down first aid training. Daryll talking to Ray about setting date with Janine.

         If anyone need a Geraldton patch talked to Peter he has some free.

         Albany Hill Climb on 3-4 Nov 2018 Clayton and so if others going contact Clayton.

         The Mingenew pub had its grand opening today. Update: Dale rang and confirmed that they will be open for lunch. Hotel would appreciate numbers beforehand if possible.

GENERAL BUSINESS:                

         Nungers has received the bill for the website $40/y which he has paid for the last 2 years. Thank you to Nungers and Linda for this and for maintaining to web site.

Cyril McKenzie on behalf of The Professionals has kindly offered to pay the web fee for us this year. Many thanks to Cyril and the Professionals for doing this for the club. Nungers will put some advertising on the site for The Professionals.

      The Distinguished Gentlemenís Ride is on again in Perth on the 30th Sep 2018

Roger would like to hold a smaller version of this up here in Geraldton on the 16th September and is looking for volunteers to help. Please contact Roger Christie.

      Bunnings wants bikes to display again this year on Fatherís Day Weekend volunteers needed. Libby following up details.

      Peter- Rotary is having a Mad hat day raising money for Mental Health, updates to follow.

      Bikes for Humanity - In need of any old bikes or parts. Workshop at Peterís shed very Thursday.

         Christmas in July was very successful thanks to Nungers and Linda. Locals joined in about 36 at the dinner. There were Christmas decorations, wine and door prizes. Graham Beckman won first prize of a basket of goods, Marc Pollett (chook) got third prize of 3 necklaces. Some had a nice ride on Saturday to Denham for coffee and cake. Sunday good ride home meeting the gang from Geraldton at Galena Bridge for lunch.

         Bring and Share 18th August at Peter and Cherylís BYO 6pm. Approved by Cheryl!

         Maybe we can do another 4x4 trip in the next couple of months.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

         Rider down first aid training. Only 3 people have put their name down from our club so far. If you want to do the training please email Dale- dale_clifton_42@hotmail.com so we have definite numbers. We will wait for Ray to get back to set date with Janine.

         Donít forget Christmas in July at Nanga on the 28/29 July. 14 going so far some rooms left.

GENERAL BUSINESS:                

         If anyone need a Geraldton patch talked to Peter he has some free.

         Bring and share at Teresse and Tonyís went well. Lots of food and good company and good location.

         Reminder from Ulysses office to check your memberships to see if you are due this year.

         Nationa Rally to be held in. Philip Island and Air show are around the same time so you can go to all if you want too.

         Nanson Museum has been expanded and worth a Mornington Peninsula 25 February to 3 March 2019visit. If they have notice can get afternoon tea $5. Pamphlet attached to notes.

Peter had a call from Ellen from Joondalup Club saying some of them are coming up in July and would like to have a catch up. She will call back with more info closer to the date.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

Rider down first aid training. Dale has contacted Sandra McGillivray as requested and Sandra has sent out info to her group. Peter Bannister has put a flyer up at the bike shop. Linda and Terry said there shouldnít be a problem for us to use the same building as last time. Dale havenít received any notifications of interest from anyone. Please email Dale dale_clifton_42@hotmail.com if you are interested. We probably have enough of our own members to go ahead and set up date with Janine.

We can then put out flyer with date and location and may get more interest once people know the date.

 Carnarvon Rally Ė Chris said weather was great, got wet coming home but not too bad, weekend was fine. Everyone had a good laugh, good food and company. Trips out to the Blow Holes and Gascoyne Junction and in general around the place, some went to Coral Bay. It was well organized and everyone had a great time.

 Christmas in July at Nanga on the 28/29 July. Nungers in checking it out and will but it on Google Groups and emailing.

 Suggestion we go to Gingin Gravity Discovery Centre when the weather is warmer overnighter. Have to organize timing with Observatory as tours and star gazing not on all the time.http://gravitycentre.com.au/

Suggestion by Terry that we go to Ninghan for overnighter 60km South of Paynes Find when we want to go to Paynes Find.

 Update from Peter about Geraldton Motorcycle friendly project. There are some new bike parking spots and there is a flyer about 3 rides around the area.

 Nungers is going to change the website to show the meeting place as Freemasons now.
