MEETING NOTES – 24th February 2010

Meeting opened at 1930 hrs.  Meeting held at Freemasons Hotel and chaired by Ian Jackson-Woodhead.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

  • Albany AGM 8th to 14th March 2010 - volunteers will be needed to assist. Jobs listed are security, first aid, camping, marshal’s, event administration, gear shop, check in, event set up, event clean up, ushers, traders area, other enrolment form can be photocopied.  It has been suggested that everyone bring their blue and white striped shirts and red Beret. 
  • Monthly Adventure Riders - Third weekend in May (15th,16th) A run is being organised that will include 4x4 vehicles
  • The Veteran and Classic car club have asked if we would be interested in showing our bikes at the next Heritage day. May 16th
  • The Long Ride is coming up next year. 
  • Also Darwin Odyssey

GENERAL BUSINESS:

  • New Logo has been approved. New cloth patches available $5. Small stickers $2, large $5
  • Thank you to Peter for all the work he has been doing for the club.
  • Thank you to Rebecca, Bev and Arthur for their contribution into the logo and Cyril for organizing the printing of the patches and stickers.
  • Thank you to everyone that helped with the Ulysses Arthritis Fundraiser Ride.
  • It was noted that everyone thought that the Dongara dinner ride was a good way to meet people

 

NEXT MEETING:

Next meeting will be at Freemasons Hotel at 19.30 of 31st March chaired by Graeme Stewart. Meet there for dinner beforehand if you wish. The meeting closed at 20.08 hrs.

GENERAL BUSINESS:

  •   Sunday coffee will be back to the Airport at 3pm commencing forthwith. ie this Sunday 31th  January.

  • A new logo to comply with NatCom wishes re wording developed by Arthur, Bev with input from Cyril to go to NatCom for approval. Bruce has it and will send off to National Secretary.

  • Klaus Gudel, Batavia Driver Training, advised the meeting of his service in rider training of all classes, including refresher lessons. He can be contacted on 0428998894.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

  • Christmas Pageant 5th December in Albany for anyone that can go to help promote the Ulysses AGM in Albany.
  • 12th December Charity ride (toy Run) in conjunction with the Salvation Army has received major sponsorship from Centro Shopping Centres.  There will be 10 x $100 Vouchers from Woolworths, 5 x $100 Coles and 5 x $100 Target. The parade will start from Centro Stirling’s car park (to be fenced off) and finish at Target via the highway and Chapman Road . A police escort is anticipated. Finish with a sausage sizzle at Target car park.  Buy a sausage for a chance to win.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:

  • The Veteran and Classic car club have asked if we would be interested in showing our bikes at the next Heritage day.
  • Rose Holdaway’s Midwest Expressions Art Project - official opening of the exhibition will be at the QPT on the 13th November and continues until the 20th.
  • 22 November is the Antique Fair and Swap meet. Anyone that has something to sell contact Peter Moore by 15 Nov if you wish to sell something.

  • 6 December Adventure Riders run from Drummonds to Horrocks. More information next meeting.

November coffee meetings will be at the Freemasons Hotel at 3pm.

There is a new Motorcycle trainer in town for those that wish to go for a motorbike licence.

  • Next years Odyssey may be held at Yanchep
  • A new venue is needed for own monthly meeting. Ian and Peter are looking into this.
