Ride and Event Calendar

Ride Guidelines:

  • Arrive early and prepared: alert, proper ride clothing, check bike condition, fuel tank full, tyres at correct pressure.
  • Riders ride within their own limits ("ride your own ride") and observe speed limits & other rules of the road.
  • Riders do not overtake the ride leader without permission.
  • Do not overtake anyone on the left (unless in a separately marked lane).
  • Tail End Charlie rides at a safe margin behind the slowest rider and indicates to each corner marker rider that they may continue with the ride.
  • At each turn, the 2nd rider (the one behind the Leader) pulls over and signals the corner - until the Tail End Charlie arrives.
  • Riders inform Tail End Charlie if they intend to leave the ride.
  • Visitors are welcome at Ulysses rides - please introduce yourself, and ask about our ride protocols.
  • New and inexperienced riders: please ask the ride leader to match you with a "buddy" for the ride.

Armadale		 Deep South Swing
  • It is on again - another leisurely four day swing along the back roads of the South West. This year's ride ventures into the deep south of Nannup, Pemberton, and Manjimup visiting old timber mills, forestry centres, and the WA home of county music.
  • As before cheap accommodation at country pubs, frequent stops at bakeries, and the telling of disgraceful jokes will feature on this ride.

  • Ride to Bolgart.
  • From our East Perth start we'll get to the hills via Orrong Road; thence through Stoneville, Mt Helena, Chidlow, Wooraloo, Toodyay, and then Bolgart.
  • Lunch at the historic Bolgart Hotel.
  • Return via Coondle, Julimar Road, Chittering Road and Chittering Valley Road, Neaves Road, then Mitchell Fwy back to Perth.

Belmont Park		 33rd Annual Perth Bikers Charity Ride
  • For Your Information Only, this is not a Ulysses event.
  • The 33rd Annual Perth Bikers Charity Ride, sometimes called "The Toy Run" is on again this year.
  • Ride starts at 11 am from the carpark of the Belmont Park Racecourse (in Burswood, not in Belmont).
  • To ride in the pack with other Ulysses members you must be at the start point before 10:30 am.
  • Perth Branch leaves from East Perth at 10:00 am.
  • The ride enters Graham Freeway, and then goes north on Mitchell Freeway, exiting at Joondalup.
  • The ride ends at The Arena, Joondalup.
  • Bring toys for those in need at Christmas, donated via the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

Albany Pageant and Xmas Lunch
  • For Your Information Only, this is not a Perth Branch event.
  • On Sat 6th Dec the City of Albany has invited the Ulysses Club to participate in the annual Xmas Pageant Parade.
  • This will be a great opportunity for the club to promote the 2010 AGM Event and to raise even more support from a City that is really getting behind us for our event.
  • The theme for the Parade is Movies. I have nominated us as the "WILD HOGS", It seemed appropriate!
  • We will be near the front of the parade and it will be broadcast live (tv & radio) around the regional areas of the state.
  • This also happens to be the day of our Branch Xmas party to which everyone is invited. So as you can imagine I will need numbers from each branch asap!!! Catering etc!
  • The proposed format for the day is:
  • 1:00pm Xmas Lunch at Fio's Resturant in Mt Barker.
  • Depending on how much time is available either a short ride, coffee and cake somewhere or leave en masse for the 49km ride to Albany for the muster before the parade at 6.15pm.
  • 7.00- 8.00pm Xmas parade.
  • 8.30pm re-group at our unofficial club rooms (haha!), the amenities/social club at Albany Prison for a BBQ and one or four beverages of your choice.
  • Please remind your crew that this is a good promotion for our 2010 AGM and they can also use the time to look around and/or book accomodation.
  • Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier.
